I have two stands and it is consistent on both. The magnetic pogo pin connector on the stand has seven pins but th. I think i can pretty conclusively say the charging port is the problem. The xps will charge from the optional stand using the port on the long side and the adapter is detected correctly.

I am not a gamer but it plays the few games i use perfectly fine and i use remote desktop a lot on it too. Hi my bios is already most up to date. When docked on stand i get plugged in not charging when plugged in direct to ac adapter it works properly. Also check to see if your charging port is working as well too.

Hi everybody just bought a recond charging stand from the net but it does not seem to be working. Battery charging not working since then. The notification tray icon shows charging but it doesn t charge even when the computer is turned off. I cannot charge the xps 18 in the base only with the power supply directly plugged into the side of the tablet that basically defeats the purchase of a 50 base.

It makes easy to drop in and out xps 18 from the charging stand with the help of magnetic pogo pin connector. Ac adapter is original one from dell bought with this pc xps18. It might be blocked by a speck of dirt that won t allow the grooves of the charger to fit into the computer. No indicator light is showing and it is defo not charging.

Mine charges fine through the side port and i am awaiting a replacement. Battery not charging when windows 10 active. The xps 18 recognizes the charger when it s plugged directly into the unit and it charges fine when plugged in directly but not when it s plugged into the cradle. The xps itself charges fine when plugged into the tablet so no probs there.

I started having issues with my xps 18 around two weeks ago as well. Give your portable aio a permanent place with the xps 18 stand from dell. I just put a call into dell technical support and they claim it s a known issue and have scheduled a. Again no complaints and it boots very fast with the ssd.

Model number w01a can be found by checking the device s right support foot. Silly me i have the cradle stand which i have not used to charge my xps except when i first bought the xps 18 so i totally forgot that i can charge by connecting the charger to the stand so silly other post have even mentioned this. Have been on windows 10 for at least a year with no charging issues. Unfortunately we cannot access the stand port in our field applications.

Other than my power stand charging issues i have no complaints with my xps 18 it is exactly what i wanted. It has the standard plugged in not charging message on the tray icon.
