Leave the rug outdoors until it s completely dry before returning the clean area rug to its place in the house you may need to flip it over and allow the rug to dry one side at a time.

It will smell like vinegar when it is first applied but the smell will dissipate as it dries. Do not apply too much force when brushing and as much as possible brush in a straight line motion following the rug pile direction. Allow the cleaner to sit on the rug for 5 minutes. Apply a little to a small corner or patch mix in some water and let it settle for a few hours.

Do not oversaturate the rug. Use a wet dry vacuum to remove as much water as possible from the rug. Vinegar is an excellent rug cleaning solution for neutralizing odors. Wool rugs are particularly sensitive and can be stained or bleached by some types of chemicals.

Do not rub carelessly or harshly at a stain as you could permanently damage the rug. For the center portion of your oriental rug use a soft long bristled brush or non shedding sponge. Check carefully to see if there is any color damage or fiber damage. Go back and rinse that spot off.
